A long banquet table set with flowers in a timber-framed barn strung with lights

The venue

The barn, the inn and the cottage, all yours

The barn was built in 1887 for dairy cows and restored by Dan and a crew of carpenters between 2014 and 2016. It has hand-hewn beams, a sprung maple floor, and a long wall of doors that open to the lawn and the mountains.

The inn’s lounge and porch are your cocktail hour, and the inn and cottage together sleep 25 of your guests. You’ll have one point person, Tess, from your first tour to the last dance.

Book a tour or a tasting

Tours are free and take 45 minutes. Tastings are $60 for two, with a $30 deposit that comes off your catering. Your date hold, with the rental agreement, is on the Book & pay page.

  • Tuesday to Saturday, 10 to 4
  • Tastings and date holds on Book & pay
  • Free to move up to 48 hours ahead
What would you like to book?

We’ll get back to you to confirm a time.

These visits are booked by the time, not by the night: tours, tastings, a breakfast or a fire pit, and a short call that holds a midweek stay. A deposit holds your time and comes off what you owe us. Cancel or move a booking online up to 48 hours ahead and the deposit goes back to your card.

Couples who’ve been married here

  • ★★★★★
“We were married in the barn last October with 104 guests. Tess answered every question twice, the barn looked like a dream under the lights, and our grandmother slept in the Alder Suite. Three of our guests have already rebooked for ski season.”

  • ★★★★★
“We held our rehearsal dinner and the wedding in the same barn, a night apart. The menu tasting with Margo was the highlight of our planning. Everyone still talks about the roast squash and the maple pie.”

Questions about the barn

How many guests does the barn hold?

Up to 120 seated at tables, 140 for a ceremony with rows of chairs, and 160 standing for a reception. The inn and cottage sleep 25 people, and we have a list of other places to stay in Stowe for the rest of your guests.

Do we have to use your kitchen?

No. Margo and the kitchen can cater from $58 a person, or you can bring a licensed caterer from our list. Alcohol must be served by a licensed bartender, and we can recommend two.

What if it rains?

The barn is the rain plan, and it’s a lovely one. Ceremonies move inside, cocktail hour moves to the lounge and the porch, and the fire pit waits for the sun.

Want to see it in person?

The best way to know if the barn is right for you is to stand in it. Come to a tour, or call Tess.
